SUMMARY:Winter Wildlife Tracks
DESCRIPTION:Join Kam Culbertson\, SLT Volunteer\, for a program on identifying wildlife tracks in the snow!\nFisher (Pekania pennanti) tracks \nThis program will feature an introduction to wildlife tracking followed by practicing these new skills in the field. Learn how to identify tracks based on the parts of the track\, overall shape\, gait pattern\, and size. Look for common species such as fox\, bobcat\, river otter\, turkey\, coyote\, and more! \nPlease\, wear boots with sturdy traction and dress for winter. We highly suggest you bring ice traction for you boots: micro-spikes\, yak trax\, nanospikes\, etc. Bring your tracking field guide if you have one. \nThis program will be led by Kam\, an SLT volunteer: \nHowdy\, I’m Kam.\nI’m a young outdoorsman with a passion for wildlife. In 2019 I graduated with a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from Unity College with a main focus on mammals. While at Unity I gained experience working with waterfowl\, game birds\, moose\, and white-tailed deer. Since graduating I have been a part of crews studying large mammals in the Southwest as well as the upper Midwest in both the winter and summer months. I typically winter in Maine and truly enjoy hikes in the Camden Hills after a fresh snowfall.\n\nNote SLT’s Liability and Photo Release Form  \n  \nRegistration capacity is limited by parking. Those registering as a group and traveling in one vehicle are only required to register once. *1 car equals 1 reservation*
