SUMMARY:Introduction to Nature Photography
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with The Scarborough Public Library\, please join instructor Dan Kehlenbach for a class on Nature Photography. \nWhether alone or with others\, exploring nature with a camera is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the world around you. Nature is everywhere– you don’t have to travel to far-off destinations to make photographs. \nRequirements for class: \n\nNo experience necessary! This class is geared for the complete beginner. People with experience will also benefit from the presentations.\nA digital camera of any kind\nComputer or mobile device to edit photos (or use the library computers)\nClass notes will be provided\nRegistration for all six classes is required\n\nParticipants will learn: \n\nPhotographic techniques for a wide range of nature subjects\nEthics of nature photography and responsible practices\nProcessing photos in the “digital darkroom”\nAn appreciation for nature and skills for an enjoyable lifelong pursuit\n\nCourse Outline: \n\nIntroduction to nature photography\, cameras\, and gear — Tuesday\, April 25\, 6:30PM-7:30PM\nLandscape and scenics — Saturday\, April 29\, 1PM-2:30PM. SLT will also be offering some trees and shrubs available to shop in person at the event. \nBroadturn Farm is offering beautiful Mother’s Day arrangements for presale in a handmade ceramic vase.  Presale offered through their website. \nRebel Hill Farm is offering native wildflowers for preorder or shopping – a percentage of proceeds will go to the Scarborough Land Trust. Pre orders are available through their website. \nOld Wells Farm is offering certified organic vegetable\, flower\, and herb seedlings to shop. \nFood Trucks: \nCrepe Elizabeth \nThe Greeks of Peaks \nLocal Artisans will be offering some beautiful\, hand made items to shop:\nAlice Nasto Ceramics \n \nGo Go Refill \nDirigo Linum \nFull Cycle Art \nWe will also be offering 15 minute Massage appointments!\nSign up for a chair massage in Broadturn’s airbnb cabin and shop/eat/walk while you wait for your appointment! \nParking\nPlease park along the access road which is located at 7 Hanson Road. The main entrance to the farm will be blocked off.
