DESCRIPTION:Come learn about which of Maine’s animals hibernate! Join Scarborough Land Trust’s volunteer educator Kelly Pietrzak for stories\, songs\, and a craft. Children are encouraged to bring along a stuffed animal that can be seen in Maine. We will discuss how the real animal manages in our winter environment. Dress warmly and bring something to sit on\, we will be outside for story time\, if the weather permits\, before heading inside to complete a craft.

DESCRIPTION:Join Scarborough Land Trust and Scarborough Public Library to celebrate apple season with a story time and cider pressing event!\n \nWe will read stories about apple varieties and trees\, then use a press to make cider. \nBring your own apples if you wish to use the press! \nStorytime and cider pressing will be led by Kelly Pietrzak. Kelly loves to work with children: from coaching youth sports\, to leading youth nature hikes\, to homeschooling her own two children. She previously ran a nature education business for preschool aged children and has a Master’s in Education teaching mostly middle school math but also at the elementary and college level. She loves to camp\, tend her ever expanding gardens\, and trail run with the family dog. This is the third year Kelly has led walks for children with Scarborough Land Trust\, and her second year serving on SLT’s Communication\, Education\, and Outreach Committee. \nNo sign up required. \nNote SLT’s Liability and Photo Release
