SUMMARY:Winter Tree Identification Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join Christie Constantine\, a Maine Master Naturalist\, for a guided walk exploring how to identify trees without their leaves. Using clues like bark\, buds\, twigs\, seeds\, and overall form\, we’ll discover the subtle details that distinguish common Maine trees in winter. By slowing down to notice these features\, participants will gain skills in tree identification while deepening their appreciation for the resilience and beauty of our forests in the coldest months.

SUMMARY:Wildflower Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join wildflower enthusiast Becky Warren Seel on a walk at Elaine Stimson Warren Woods Preserve.  Becky Warren Seel has a deep connection to the property because of her family’s prior ownership and she is excited to share that connection with you by exploring the property with you\, showing you where different wildflowers can be found\, and sharing information about some of the flowers. Delight in the beautiful flowers such as the Grass Pink and Rose Pogonia orchids\, which are unique to Warren Woods and hopefully visible on this walk.  Come learn about these special plants and others that make Warren Woods their home. \n  \nPlease note that the land at Warren Woods tends to be wet and muddy\, especially after periods of heavy rain.  Participants are strongly encouraged to wear boots. \nIn the case of weather concerns\, feel free to call the office to confirm that the walk will still be held.

SUMMARY:Youth Wildflower Walk
DESCRIPTION:Wildflowers come in all shapes\, sizes\, and colors. Learn how to identify them with Kelly Pietrzak! Kelly is a youth outdoor educator\, local parent\, and SLT volunteer. She will teach you where to find the usual and unusual flowers at Warren Woods Preserve.  \nPlease wear comfortable footwear for walking and bring bug spray. Bring water and a snack if you’d like! Long pants are recommended. She previously ran a nature education business for preschool aged children and has a Master’s in Education teaching mostly middle school math but also at the elementary and college level. She loves to camp\, tend her ever expanding gardens\, and trail run with the family dog. This is the third year Kelly has led walks for children with Scarborough Land Trust\, and her second year serving on SLT’s Communication\, Education\, and Outreach Committee. \nNote SLT’s Liability and Photo Release
