How to letterbox
Letterboxing is Scarborough Land Trust’s very own geocaching program! Similar to geocaching, each letterbox is hidden in a secret location, and inside there is a notepad, pencil, stamp, stamp pad, and sticker.
Once the box is found, each letterbox detective is encouraged to bring along their own personal journal or notepad to document the locations of their findings. If you do not have your own journal … no worries!
Document your journey to the letterbox in the notebook provided inside. Feel free to write down an observation, draw a sketch, or share your favorite part of the trail. If writing does not call to you, you may use the animal tracks stamp and stamp pad included in the letterbox and record your trip that way. If you wish to receive a prize for finding all nine letterboxes, make sure you have your own journal and use the stamp for each location.
Not only do letterboxing clues help guide you to the letterboxes but they also provide some interesting facts about the history, ecology, and geology of that property.
