The Land
12 acres
Blue Heron Preserve is 12 acres and includes a 2.7-acre conservation easement held by Scarborough Land Trust (SLT). The landowner has generously allowed and built the existing trail through the conservation easement. This partnership allows the public to enjoy access to this preserve.
Blue Heron is part of SLT’s high priority Nonesuch River Project, protecting the land along the river that flows into Scarborough Marsh. This oasis in a developed area of Scarborough provides habitat for both aquatic and terrestrial wildlife.
