Once SLT conserves land, our work has just begun. We must take care for it – forever. Dedicated volunteers are the backbone of our ongoing stewardship of the land.
Do you like to get outside and enjoy hands-on projects? Sign up to be a Stewardship Volunteer, and help take care of our trails and lands. You will help…
- Build and maintain trails.
- Remove invasive plants, and plant native species.
- Clear brush and debris.
No special skills or tools are necessary, although we can always use carpentry or chainsaw skills. Instructions and any needed training are provided for all tasks.
Our annual Spring Clean-Up on the first Saturday of May is a great time to see what stewardship work is like. Look for the annual announcement and sign up!
We also organize corporate volunteer work parties—a great way to get employees outside and working together.
Already volunteering? Thank you! You can find the hours log here.
Pitch In at Events
Land conservation is all about community. Event Volunteers help us connect more of the community to our work. You can support SLT by helping out at events.
Do you like to work with others to create a successful program or event ? Pitch in on the front lines or behind the scenes at SLT events.
- At our Annual Meeting in May, at nature walks, or special events, help to greet people, sign in guests, and staff information or refreshment tables.
- Over 50 volunteers power our annual Broadturn Farm Dinner. Help with set-up, registration, food prep, serving, clearing, or clean-up. Enjoy a great night at the Farm in July.
