Description
Description: Pitch pine can be a tall evergreen, however, sometimes in harsh condition the tree can be short and stunted. The branches droop and are twisted. Historically, the resin was collected and turpentine produced. The wood is used for lumber and pulpwood. The trees are fire resistant.

Soil Requirement: Suitable for dry, rocky or sandy soils, however, pitch pines can also grow in certain wetland conditions.
