Description
Description: Winterberry Holly is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with spreading branches. An individual plant will have either male or female flowers, so more than one shrub should be planted to increase the chances of having successful pollination. Flowers bloom in June to July with berry production in the fall. Berries are bright red and often persist into the winter providing food for birds.
Height: 6 to 12 feet
Light Requirement: Full sun to shade
Soil Requirement: Moist soil with high organic matter. Prefers pH 4.5 to 6.5.
