Description
Description: This is a large, showy aster that is common in the Northeast. The plant is most notable in late summer/fall when the flowers are in bloom. The flowers are purple with an orange/yellow center.

Soil Requirement: Moist soils
Wildlife Benefit: Used by pollinators, especially bees and butterflies. The plant is a larval host for the Pearl Crescent butterfly.
